eRank vs Marmalead vs Alura vs EverBee: which Etsy tool is worth paying for?

For most Etsy sellers, eRank is the best value: it has the most generous free tier and its paid Basic plan is $5.99/month, far below the others. Choose Marmalead ($19/month, no free plan) if you want its engagement and seasonality view; Alura ($7.99, $29.99/month) if you want keyword research plus a listing optimizer, buyer follow-ups, and A/B testing in one app; and EverBee (free tier, then $29.99/month) if your priority is product and sales-estimate research rather than pure keyword work. None of them writes your listing for you.

Prices verified from erank.com/pricing, marmalead.com/pricing, alura.io/pricing and everbee.io/pricing in August 2026. Alura advertises up to 50% off on annual billing; Marmalead also sells a quarterly plan at $53. Vendors change prices; check the source before you buy.

How they differ in one paragraph each

eRank is the incumbent value pick. The free plan (5 keyword lookups a day, one connected shop) is enough to audit a small shop, and Basic at $5.99/month lifts you to 100 lookups a day. It leans toward keyword data, tag suggestions, and listing audits.

Marmalead has no free plan, so you commit at $19/month (or $190/year, or a $300 lifetime license). Its selling point is "engagement" and seasonality scoring on keywords, aimed at sellers who want to read demand trends over a year rather than just search volume.

Alura bundles the widest feature set at the low end: a Chrome extension for product research, a keyword tool, plus a listing optimizer, customer follow-up emails, and A/B testing at the Growth ($14.99/month) and Professional ($29.99/month) tiers. It is the closest of the four to an all-in-one Etsy toolkit.

EverBee is research-first: estimated sales, revenue, and conversion figures on listings and shops, unlimited keyword research on the $29.99/month Growth plan. Its free Hobby tier is limited to 10 keywords.

What none of them do

All four are research tools. They surface keywords, volumes, and competitor data; they do not rewrite your title, tags, and description into buyer language for you. That rewrite is the step that actually moves clicks and conversion, and it is manual work on Etsy regardless of which tool you buy. Etsy's own guidance in the Etsy Seller Handbook is clear that the title and tags need to match real buyer queries and that listing quality (clicks and sales) feeds ranking, a keyword list alone does not get you there.

What about Listingtonic?

Listingtonic is sometimes listed alongside these tools, but it is an Amazon-only listing-rewrite tool, not an Etsy tool. It does not do Etsy keyword research and will not help with an Etsy shop. We mention it here only to correct the mismatch: if you sell on Amazon and want the rewrite side (title, bullets, backend terms) rather than raw keyword data, see our best Amazon listing tools page. For Etsy, pick from the four above.

Our recommendation

Start on eRank's free plan. If you outgrow it, $5.99/month Basic covers most one-shop sellers. Move to Alura if you specifically want the built-in listing optimizer and A/B testing; move to EverBee if you are doing serious product-opportunity research and want sales estimates. Marmalead is a fine tool but the hardest to justify on price given the free options around it.

Frequently asked questions

Which Etsy tool has the best free plan?
eRank's free plan is the most generous, with 5 keyword lookups per day, a connected shop, and daily listing audits. Alura and EverBee also have free tiers; Marmalead has no free plan.
Is eRank or Marmalead better?
eRank is cheaper (free tier, then $5.99/month) and broader in keyword data. Marmalead has no free plan and costs $19/month, but some sellers prefer its engagement and seasonality scoring. For value, eRank wins for most sellers.
How much does EverBee cost?
EverBee has a free Hobby plan (10 keywords), then Growth at $29.99/month (or $19.99/month billed annually) and Business at $99/month (or $69/month annually), per everbee.io/pricing in August 2026.
Do any of these tools write my Etsy listing for me?
No. eRank, Marmalead, Alura, and EverBee are keyword and product research tools. Alura includes a listing optimizer that scores your listing, but you still write the copy. Rewriting the title, tags, and description into buyer language is manual work.
